But Really, why art?

Since my earliest memories, I have always had a passion for art .

Drawing and painting have captivated me above all else. During my childhood, I developed an intense fascination with felt pictures that allowed me to express my creativity through coloring, meticulously capturing every intricate detail with precision. As I grew older and entered high school, I discovered a new realm with the introduction of watercolors, igniting a fresh obsession…

31 Days. 31 Drawings….

Inktober is a month long at challenge originally created by illustration artist Jake Parker. This month long event is a great way to experiment, explore, discover new artistic skills and work with new ideas or themes. The Inktober event takes place every day for the month of October every artist works to a set of prompts, one for each day, working to create an “ink” drawing - although for me a little colour never hurt anyone!

Keeping summer florals….

Flowers have been a welcomed introduction to every home interior for decades. This small feature talks about the trends for florals in your home for 2022/2023.

Flowers are introduced as a way to lift the mood and be more expressive whether this be a bouquet of flowers, soft textiles or the introduction of art. We see the trend for florals springing directly from the catwalk into the home this year.

Colours of flower designs will be brighter and bolder coinciding with the 2022 Pantone colour of the year Periwinkle. The serenity but boldness found in this pale indigo colour is the perfect addition to your home. The trend in this particular pallet shall continue into the next year with lavender being a firm interior favourite. Combining these dreamy shades with complimentary colours including greens or orange hues for that little extra pop.

Eye catching “instagrammable” interiors are still bang on trend. Rooms which are full of colour accessorised with flowers are a huge feature.

We move into 2023 continuing to seek a calmess in our interiors via the addition of nature and continuing to bring the outside in. Floral art is a great way to add the nature inspired look to your home.

The concept of awakening nature is powerful and transformative. A new collection which explores our natural world and the connection is has to the rhythms and patterns of the seasons and the mystic of the midnight sky.

This collection tells watercolour stories with fantasy elements. The idea that we can imagine and explore unknown magical worlds filled with mystery and wonder.

My latest collection for Summer ‘22 explores the relationship which we have with flowers and nature.

“Under the sun is where the flowers bloom, colourful halos sending silent messages.”

For years flowers have changed the landscape around us, millions of years ago they also impacted on the evolution of the bee.

Flowers to us can mean many things, a little pleasure in life which brings a message. The names of each painting within this collection of work represents the symbolism associated with the flower.
